The two identities, ego and spirit.
Ego or the false self, is a bundle of thoughts that is believed in. It makes better then and lesser then comparison, judges, criticizes, is in a state of resistance to what is. Feeds off of negativity and reactivity, and focuses on separateness from others. Identities with processions, beauty, intelligence, money, career, status, fame, approval, showing off, physical ability, their history, situation, thoughts, emotions, or even a victim mentality, etc. Often tries to put happiness in the future where requirements have to be met first, but even if you do those things it will just make up more requirements. None of this is who you are.
Then there’s the spiritual ego which is the flavor of it that has a system of thoughts that it uses to be more right then others, to be against those that disagree with those thoughts. To use those thoughts to judge others and themselves if they don’t meet expectations. And needing others to believe the same thing they do in order to justify themselves (what they think their self is).
Spirit, your true self; does not change or age. Is formless, is an essence of God. Is loving, accepting, and peaceful. Is more in tune with oneness and harmony. It can also be joyful, blissful, light, and artsy. It’s in the flow, and living in the moment. It doesn’t need to figure anything out. It’s already whole and complete. Unbothered by challenges, never dies. An ease or lightness, a oneness with life.
These words are not everything to describe it, but are more of pointers to show the contrast between them. Words are generalized and are not absolute.
